Climbing Mount Batur (Bukit Batur) is one of the best option you can do if you have already visited the famous spots, beaches, bars, rice terraces etc. in Bali. If you’ve been usually hiking before you’ll find this route pretty easy but the view is simply amazing!
You can book a tour in almost every tourist frequented city and homestay. It should be around 350k IDR so don’t let yourself ripped off. We had a guy in our group who paid 60EUR for the same trip. Ehh…
The schedule will be something like this: they pick you up around 2am, depends on which city you’re staying in, after 1,5-2 hours drive you arrive near Toyabungkah village where you get your guides and headlights and at 3:45am you start marching up with another 100 people. When you reached the top you will instatly forget the difficulties of the 2,5 hours long walking in vulcanic dust. Grab a cup of hot tea and enjoy the view!
