DIY Cameron Highlands wedding – Brinchang, Malaysia
We love Cameron Highlands wedding not only because of the cooler weather but the scenery is just epic. Strawberry, tea, steamboat and amazing sunrise all in one place. That’s why it was the must have location for Abby and TuckLoong to hold a garden wedding.
When they asked me to be their photographer for a DIY wedding in Brinchang, Cameron Highlands I had a good feeling about it. After we met and discussed the details I knew it was something I’d love to shoot anytime and wouldn’t have to feel like working. Okay, to be honest TuckLoong already had me with his whiskey collection. Big respect for all the effort they put into this day. Planning, preparing, carpentering the decor. When the bride and groom are both graphic designers you don’t have to worry for a sec.
For me the most touching moment of the day was the ceremony. After putting the rings on and promising each other a lifelong commitment these lovebirds grabbed their film cameras (of course a Leica and a Contax) and captured that moment forever. That moment when they were standing there, looking into each other’s eyes and surrounded with family and best friends. This is something that really matters in life.
The evening reception was pretty unique with serving steamboat on smouldering coal, the live boogie by the Dotters girls and a little fireworks at midnight. So what else do you need for a successful Cameron Highlands wedding? Plant cili padi in the ground upside down to chase away the rain! Old Chinese tradition only your grandmother knows but it really works!
